THE IMPORTANCE OF KEEPING YOUR TEAM ENGAGED

Whilst the lure of remote working is exciting for many, its novelty can subside over time. Deadlines and Zoom meetings aren't hugely motivating and can’t replace the social interaction of a tête-à-tête.

If working from home a couple of days a week has been proven to increase productivity and well-being, three months of isolation can negatively impact the mental health of your employees.

The lack of social interaction employees otherwise get in an office environment - when bouncing a quick question off a colleague or having a chat over coffee, can lead to feeling disengaged with the company and potentially a sense of loneliness.

To keep company culture alive and engaged, is imperative to keep employees engaged with each other in non-work-related settings. One of the best ways to do this is by setting up fun team building activities which boost employee morale and enhance productivity.

After three months of self-isolation and self-distancing our social interactions have highly relied on technology, hinging on Zoom meetings and “after work drinks” in the hope of preserving and fostering a friendly environment. As many jobs already consists of endless hours in front of a screen, it’s of no surprise if we grow tired of virtual hangouts and Zoom calls. Although they’ve been pivotal in keeping in touch with friends and family during this uncertain time, they can’t replace our human need of being socially “wired” and interacting - our need to connect is as fundamental as our need for food and water.

All is not lost. As lockdown eases, the prospect of going back to our old normal seems hopeful. Bright and sunny days have livened up isolation, and now that we’re allowed back out in small groups, we can finally make use of some good old fun soaking up some vitamin D.

Outdoor team building activities that foster communication and teamwork are the ideal experience to strengthen cooperation and team unity.

With the relaxation of rules that have dictated not only how events were run, but also how and how much we interacted with each other, we’ve launched a Summer 2020 Scavenger Hunt. A summer celebratory event, in line with the latest regulations, that allows small groups to enjoy some outdoor fun, create unforgettable memories - whilst at the same time work together to solve clues, riddles and creative and hilarious content.

Our commitment to save us from Coronavir-us turning us into Coronavir-me continues, and we are delighted to be able to offer our scavenger-lovers an event that can be done outside anywhere in the world - an event without boundaries aimed at bringing your workforce back together.
