SCAVENGER HUNT FOR GRADUATE SCHEMES, FRESHER'S WEEK, AND BACK-TO-SCHOOL!

Since Boris Johnson advised the nation to work from home whenever possible a few months back, millions of people shifted from an office environment to their living rooms - replacing all face-to-face interactions with daily virtual meet-ups. Even though the old normal seems to have come to a pause, what is still going ahead is the hiring process for new starters as well as intake for new students at college and at university.

The first days on the job or at a new school are now taking place in the living room. This isn’t your usual on-boarding experience: Instead of walking into a new office or school room, excited and nervous to meet new people and settle down in a new environment, you’ll be juggling introductory Zoom calls to meet your colleagues/classmates, perched on the sofa in pyjamas.

Starting off your career or grad scheme remotely can seem daunting but there are ways to smooth the process, and make all newcomers feel a sense of belonging to their new workplace and speed up the “virtual bonding” experience.

As we ease back into our day to day lives, we can start thinking of going back to team building activities that will boost morale and create that sense of inclusion and synergy within your work and school families. Implementing team building activities into your strategy will greatly impact your employees and students well-being in a positive way, boosting both morale and output and ultimately, getting you one step closer to your company goals.

Recently we've seen a number of  companies and schools looking to use the Big Smoke Scavenger Hunt as a light-hearted way to get recent hires and new classmates working together. Our hunt is made of fun and challenging tasks, all of which have to be completed within a time limit – adding a healthy competition element to the mix.

Teams will work together as effectively as possible solving riddles, answering cryptic clues and creating creative content. The Big Smoke delivers a fun-filled and challenging experience where members quickly get to know each other as well as discovering one another’s skills or abilities whilst creating bonding memories.

An ideal event to annihilate the social barrier that screens have built up between us during isolation and promote a sense of inclusion and belonging to a company and team - necessary especially if the business has grown and new employees have started working remotely. An organized-fun experience that can be built around specific needs or topics you may want to address. Check out some of last weeks photos below:
