The Big Smoke Events take on the PA SHOW 2020 in London at ExCel

On the 25th and 26th of February, the massive hall in which the ExCel Exhibition centre unfolds was filled with inspiring businesses, visitors and speakers from all over the world.

PA’s, EA’s and VA’s were the centerpiece of the event. As PAs are the backbone of a company and carry many responsibilities, the speakers gave fascinating talks on personal development with a focus on self-care and preventing burnout whilst achieving both great success and a good work-life balance.

From event planning to venue scouting, personal couriers and personalized merchandising you are sure to find a business to cater to whatever you need to do your job. The more time you spend roaming around the stands, the more your bag fills with business cards, gadgets and organic yummy goods to keep you going, no space for quitters!

The Big Smoke Events attended the conference to create new relationships and nurture existing ones like our friends at the Global PA Association, a great organisation that connects PAs and offers Accredited Training opportunites. We recommend signing up with their newsletter if you want to learn more about what they can do to help you become the best PA you can be.

Overall, the energy was comparable to the hustling one of a Mercato - people bustled from stand to stand with lively market chatters, exchanging gifts, partnership ideas and future event plans.

Planning events for the company is an important and a complex task in a PA’s job as organizing multiple events a year and finding something different, fun and that still has a corporate feel each time can be hard.

What people look for is a team building activity where colleagues interact and find out how to build on each other’s strength and to our surprise, the concept of corporate Scavenger Hunt tended to be an unknown but compelling territory. We were pleased to know that the people we spoke to found value in the fact that “we’ll handle everything” from theme planning, to venue scouting and catering - releasing them from quite a time-consuming task.

Overall the PA Show 2020 was a stimulating couple of days where we had the opportunity to reconnect and catch up with the complex world of PA’s and the ever-changing, dazzling business world which open our eyes to a land of new opportunities, partnerships and fun projects.

Highly recommended!
